2016 Quiz

The 2016 Applied Maths Team Quiz took place on Thursday, 3rd March. The national final took place on Saturday, 12th March.

The winners of the national final were Belvedere College, Dublin.

General Information

Entry fee per school is €30 for the first team, €20 for the second team and €10 for each additional team (maximum of €75 per school).

Each team, which consists of at most 3 students, must include at least one student who is not in Leaving Certificate/Final year.

The quiz will consist of eight rounds, with three questions per round.

Questions will be based on Linear Motion, Relative Velocity, Projectiles (horizontal and inclined Planes), Pulleys & Wedges, Collisions and Logic type questions.

The winners of each regional competition will be invited to participate in an all-Ireland final on Saturday 12th March, 2016 in Portlaoise Education Centre.

Questions and Answers - Regional Competition

2014 Quiz

The 2014 Regional Applied Maths Team Quiz was held on Wednesday, 19th March from 7pm to 9pm at six regional venues. The All-Ireland Final was held on Saturday, 22nd March, in Portlaoise Education Centre.

8 ROUNDS…5 ROUNDS AT 6 MINUTES, 3 ROUNDS AT 8 MINUTES

TOPICS: Questions 1 to 5 on the LC paper only to be examined in rounds 1 to 5 respectively, followed by a mixture of topics from LC questions 1 to 5 in the final three rounds. The usual format of two applied maths and one logic question per round will apply.

The six winners from the six centres and the next four teams with the highest total score (rounds 1 to 8 only, excludes any tie-break points) will be invited to the final.

2013 Quiz

The 2013 Regional Applied Maths Team Quiz was held on 20th March at 7pm at seven venues around the country. The national final of the event was held on Saturday, 23rd March. Congratulations to Christian Brothers' College, Cork on a great victory.
